Food and drink

In food, the country on the pack and the country each ingredient comes from do not always match. An Italian label can hide Canadian wheat, and an oil bottled in Spain can blend olives from several origins. Here we gather our guides to foods, drinks and supplements in which we follow each ingredient to its origin and check it against the EIU democracy index, with explanations of protected designations, mandatory labelling and how to read what the maker does not tell you.
